Welcome to Zach's and Joe's, where our story began over five decades ago in 1967. It all started with a small corner bar in Altoona, PA, called Marty's Tavern, which we acquired and transformed into Zachariah's Saloon. With unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic, Tony, Marie, and Barb poured countless hours into creating a thriving hotspot at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 58th Street.

As the years passed, Zachariah's Saloon outgrew its humble beginnings. In the mid-80s, Tony and Marie decided to build a much larger bar and restaurant on the same property, giving birth to Zach's Sociable Food and Spirits. This new establishment offered a better atmosphere, and patrons flocked to enjoy unforgettable moments in the vibrant heart of Altoona.

To meet the growing demands of our valued guests, we expanded once again. In 2001, Zach's Sports & Spirits emerged, a sprawling sports bar and restaurant that quickly became the ultimate destination for night life, sports enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Our new location featured ample space, numerous TVs, a game room, pool tables, an extensive selection of beers and

liquors, a massive bar, and a mouthwatering menu with most items made in-house.

The transformation did not end there. Today, Zach's Sociable Food and Spirits lives on as Joe's 58th St. Grill & Tavern, still preserving the cherished atmosphere that made it a local favorite. What sets Joe's apart is that we still permit smoking, providing a unique experience for guests seeking a smoke-friendly environment. Sandwiched between Zach's and Joe's, our outdoor seating area and full-service paddy-o bar offer a unique and seamless experience for our guests to enjoy the best of both worlds. Guests can travel back and forth with their beverage from Zach’s to Joe’s, and vice versa, by way of our paddy-o. After summer season is over, we enclose and heat our paddy-o and host many private parties, events and banquets such as wedding receptions, birthday parties, bridal showers, retirement parties, holiday parties, and baby showers just to name a few.
